The Government of Yukon and the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in have recently agreed to extended the period for accepting nominations to the Dawson Regional Land Use Planning Commission to September 14.
From their press release of August 31st, 2018:
Yukoners interested in serving a three-year term on the Commission as a Yukon government nominee may submit their applications to the Government of Yukon through the Boards and Committees Secretariat. Those Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in citizens interested in serving as a Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in nominee may submit applications to the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Government. The Government of Yukon and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in will each nominate three people to be members of the six-person Commission, which is selected by agreement of both parties.
It will take the two governments until October or November to announce their nominations. Then planning can resume in the Dawson Region!
